Daniels Audio Cables
Daniels Audio Cables are hand made by skilled craftsmen;
only the tape wrapping is automated to ensure that electrical characteristics
do not vary from cable to cable.
The cables are balanced, silver plated oxygen free copper (OFC) Litz conductors,
with fluoropolymer dielectrics in a twisted pair configuration.
True Litz construction ensures very consistent inductance and resistance from
D.C. to well beyond audio frequencies, and makes for a cable with extremely flat
frequency and phase response. Since the aberrations in the frequency and time
domain are minimized due to the elimination of skin effects, pulse response is improved
when compared to conventional construction. This results in the music having
a more natural harmonic balance and improved soundstaging. The bass is thus
deeper, faster, and articulated. The mids are detailed and airy. The treble is extended
and smooth. The soundstage is open with good image specificity. All of
the above is attained without a loose, boomy mid bass, or a shrill, ringing high
end.
The twisted pair configuration minimizes magnetic leakage and pickup.
This allows for the use of unshielded cable in most applications. (In unbalanced
applications, shielding results in a slight high-frequency roll-off because of the
increased capacitance given by the shield.)
Alpha
Audio Cables
Interconnect: The Alpha interconnect is ideal for
the music lover on a budget. It features many of' the Epsilon's sonic characteristics
at a fraction of the cost. It compares favorably with cables costing two or
three times as much. This interconnect offers superior bass extension, good
soundstaging, and an extremely smooth (but not overextended) top end. This
cable is terminated with thick gold plated brass phono (RCA) plugs with delrin dielectric,
and comes with a black braided polyester jacket.
Speaker Cable: The Alpha speaker cable is a 15 AWG cable offering
virtually identical performance to the Epsilon cable on speakers with reasonably
high impedance. This cable offers superior bass extension, dynamic contrast and soundstaging,
with an extended and smooth top end. The cables are terminated with 1/4"
high conductivity copper spade lug or 5/64" x 5/8" OFC pins. (A nonmagnetic
gold plating is used on either option.) It comes with a black braided
polyester jacket.
Epsilon
Audio Cables
Interconnect: Mated with an OFC RCA with teflon dielectric,
the Epsilon interconnect shows the full potential of our design. It offers
superb time performance in all areas and is extremely affordable. In addition
to the use of OFC connectors, the cables aggregate gauge is slightly increased, giving
it the ability to drive very low impedance loads easily. The cables outer jacket
is replaced by a tightly fitted nonmicrophonic polyolefin tubing in order to minimize
transmission of mechanical vibrations.
Speaker Cable: The Epsilon speaker cable is designed to drive low-impedance
loads; its aggregate gauge is increased to 13 AWG, and thus offers less resistive
losses than the alpha cable. It comes with a black polyolefin jacket.
Omega
Audio Cables
The Omega audio cables are identical in appearance and construction
with the Epsilon cables. The difference is the use of a higher grade fluoropolymer
dielectric for each of the strands. This dielectric offers more than a 20 fold
decrease in dielectric absorption compared to that used on the Alpha and Epsilon
cables. This eliminates the small amplitude distortions which often mask low-level
signals. The soundfield is thus detailed, delicate, and airy. The music
emerges from an absolutely silent background, with the instruments appearing in their
proper positions; no two instruments fighting for the same space. The bass
and treble are more extended and detailed. The mid-bass boom, high frequency
glare, and veiling which occurs with lesser cables, is gone. These cables are
recommended for only the highest resolution systems. In lesser systems, even
though the soundstage improvements, image specificity, and bass extension will be
immediately apparent, the sound may be dry and analytical, since colorations from
these cables are minimal.
